TOPIC: Contracting with Speaker Mary Ellen Reihsen, Attorney at Law, Hellmuth & Johnson Law Firm

Mary Ellen Reihsen will be discussing tips and issues impacting events professionals specifically. We will touch on client contracts; clauses you need and things to avoid. Mary Ellen will be talking about the latest hot topics in HR and labor law that every employer and employee should be aware of including: MN Parental Leave, MN Break Time for Expressing Milk, MN Cannabis legalization, MN Paid Sick & Safe Leave, MN Captive Meeting Law and MN Non-Compete Laws.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER:

Mary Ellen Reihsen - Mary Ellen serves as general counsel, providing corporate and employment law services, to technology and media conglomerates operating nationwide; numerous hospitality and live events businesses across the country; as well as start-ups, manufacturers, and eldercare facilities.

Mary Ellen drafts and negotiates complex agreements, protecting her client’s contractual interests, while focusing on and preserving the ongoing business relationship the parties will continue to have.

From a multi-jurisdictional position, Mary Ellen advises clients on data privacy policies and protocols. She provides guidance on the evolving laws and requirements regarding consumer data storage, breach response plans, and removal requests.

Mary Ellen also counsels clients on a wide range of labor and employment issues, including state and federal family leave, disabilities and related leaves and reasonable accommodations, wage and hour, civil rights, discrimination, harassment, and navigating collective bargaining issues. Additionally, Mary Ellen provides evolving guidance to businesses on Coronavirus policies and safety practices.

CLEANING/HYGIENE DRIVE:

Help support The Link by bringing new cleaning and hygiene items. The Link works with young and young families to overcome the impact of poverty and social injustice. Their 28 programs provide supportive housing, intensive case management services, and skills development to youth at risk of or experiencing homelessness, sex trafficking and/or involvement in the juvenile justice system.

Table will be near registration to donate the items at our event.
