 Uptown Theater
The Uptown Theater is a storied Minneapolis venue located at 2900 Hennepin Ave, originally opened in 1916 as a cinema before being reimagined as a live event space. After closing in 2020, it reopened in June 2023 under Live Nation as a multi-purpose venue hosting concerts, comedy, and community events — anchored by its iconic 50-foot art deco "UPTOWN" sign that has defined the neighborhood skyline since 1939. Today it brings an eclectic mix of live entertainment to one of Minneapolis's most vibrant neighborhoods, blending more than a century of cultural history with a modern concert experience.
