Content Creation, Contracts, and Cautionary Tales:
A Legal Perspective on AI.
Artificial intelligence (AI) offers exciting opportunities for event professionals — but it also brings emerging legal risks that planners must understand. In this dynamic, practical session, attorneys Brian Goodman and Emmerson Mirus of Boardman Clark will demystify foundational AI concepts, explain how copyright and contract law intersect with AI generated content, and highlight real world cautionary tales showing both proper and improper uses of AI in the meetings industry and beyond. Attendees will work through examples and walk away with an understanding of how to utilize AI tools responsibly while protecting themselves, their organizations, and their event partners.
Breakout Session 1

This 60-minute breakout session is designed as a dynamic, no-spectator conversation for Meeting Planners and Hotel Professionals who want to compare notes on what’s happening right now in the industry. We’ll dig into timely, real-world topics such as using AI tools to streamline workflows, topics you submit prior to the session and impromptu topics that evolve in the room.
Come ready to participate. This is not a listening session or a panel—attendees should expect to share experiences, ask questions, challenge assumptions, and exchange practical ideas with peers. The value of this session comes from open dialogue, candid discussion, and learning directly from one another. If you have opinions, examples, or questions, this is the room to bring them to!
Breakout Session 2

Today’s most impactful events go beyond logistics and aesthetics- they are intentionally crafted experiences designed to foster connection and create lasting impact. Korrine and Ali will explore emerging event trends through the lens of purpose-driven planning and inspired design, highlighting how intention and creative aesthetics shape modern, memorable gatherings. Michael will cover how to evaluate whether an in house AV company is exclusive or preferred, full service, or outsourced—and what each means for costs, reliability, and execution. Attendees will learn practical budgeting considerations, including attendee count, scope, venue limitations, hidden fees, and today’s post pandemic cost trends. The session also highlights key negotiation strategies, such as value based concessions, sponsorship opportunities, and operational trade offs that benefit both planners and production teams, ultimately showing how thoughtful communication and trust lead to better outcomes and fewer surprises. | ![]() ![]() |
