Honorable Mention Chapter Award



Marketing & Communications Committee

The Marketing & Communications (Mar/Comm) committee is responsible for developing and executing a marketing strategy that is used to promote MPI’s mission and objectives, communicate effectively to our chapter members, as well as to encourage industry peers to become a part of this great group.



Vice President of Marketing & Communications (MarCom)

The Vice President’s responsibilities are to provide oversight and leadership to the Marketing & Communication’s Committee Chairs including Newsletter, Web and Social Media. The Vice President will also oversee the marketing & communications strategy and execution, develop a marketing plan and create outreach and publicity for MPI; all the while ensuring compliance with MPI standards.


Director of Marketing & Communications (MarCom)

The chief responsibilities of the Director are to successfully manage and lead the Marketing & Communications Committee, in addition to supporting the Vice President of Marketing Communications.


Newsletter Chair (1-2 hours a month)

   MN Matters: Responsible for spearheading content for the monthly Chapter Newsletter.
        • Gather information from MPI members to place in newsletter before predetermined deadlines
        • Work with OOP to receive President letter and or video
        • Send proof to VP and Director for approval before submission
  MPI Minute: Responsible for spearheading content for the monthly MPI Minute that features top three upcoming pieces to know
        • Cultivate information from website for top three need to knows, upcoming events, In Case You Missed It showcase, and Misc third category
        • Send proof to VP and Director for approval before submission

External Marketing

   Press Release Writer (1 – 2 hours a month):
       • Submit pre-MPI event information to notable sites and publications
       • Submit post-MPI event information to notable sites and publications
   Advertising Coordinator (1 – 2 hours a month):
       • Assist with the marketing and creation of external marketing advertisements 
       • Research and propose unique site and events to participate with

Social Media

  Social Media Chair (1 hour per week): Social Events Engagement Chair will ensure that MPI MN Social Media pages are sharing live event information with followers by posting the following for each event:
      • Event follow up 
      • On-site event action
      • Event teasers

Special Event Marketing Liaison 

  Chairs (2): Work closely with the committees for the following events; Summer Social, Holiday Celebration, WeConnect, Year End and EMPIs.
      • Create a general marketing plan for these events
      • Join in on monthly/ weekly calls with team to keep up with event happenings
      • Overall goal is to help drive higher amounts of registrations to our events
